The Office of Admissions occasionally offers opportunities to give feedback to prospective applicants. Such opportunities are extremely limited, so requests for a counseling session may not always be granted. Contact the Office of Admissions by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 216.368.2460 with your request, and we will try to accommodate you.
Counseling sessions may also be arranged during our off-site recruitment sessions. Contact the admissions recruiter directly to arrange such individual sessions in advance.
A brief 20-minute tour of the School of Dental Medicine can be arranged in advance for small groups of interested pre-health advisees. Please contact the Office of Admissions to arrange a tour. In addition, many of our students and student organizations usually organize small group tours with their alma maters or with local pre-college students throughout the year. We do also welcome individual visits for prospective applicants if we are contacted in advance.
A small tour of the School of Dental Medicine is also included with an interview for admission, but these tours are solely for applicants, and no additional family or friends are allowed.
We strongly encourage applicants in their first or second year of post-secondary education (including the first two years of community college) to consider participating in the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP). This program targets individuals who grew up in socio-economically disadvantaged environments or circumstances and welcomes interest from applicants from underserved populations. We especially welcome applicants in the Great Lakes area, including students at Ohio colleges and universities. A national application is required, and applicants can choose up to three host sites to pursue an SMDEP experience.
While participation in SMDEP does not automatically privilege an applicant in the process, the Office of Admissions greatly values SMDEP and seeks applicants who have consistent participation in similar academic enrichment experiences.
Case SODM also welcomes on-site inquiries from prospective applicants who are participating in on-campus summer research or volunteer experiences, including internships in the area. If you are interested in applying for a summer program, please submit an early application to the program of interest. One may also contact any of our research faculty directly to see if they have openings for summer undergraduate or post-baccalaureate researchers.
The Office of Admissions welcomes questions submitted to its email address at any time. Responses to inquiries will be made within 5 business days.
In addition, the Director of Admissions hosts frequent free virtual open office hour webchats through Adobe Connect, where prospective or current applicants can ask questions. The dates and times of these virtual office hours are announced on our social media pages (Twitter, Facebook, and Google+).
