Continuing Education Course 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
Dr. Silas Duarte is an Associate Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Care at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine. His free continuing education course will offer two hours of continuing education credit. The course will discuss performing successful and satisfying composite restorations is dependent on numerous factors. This focus will be on current key bonding principles and the dynamic effects of light transmission by various direct composite materials as a foundation to create imperceptible composite restorations. Optical properties of modern composite materials and their ability to impart translucency, opalescence and fluorescence are all critical toward developing natural appearing restorations (i.e. incisal translucency and halo).

Financial Seminar 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
John F. Shelley is the Executive Director of the Planned Giving Office at Case Western Reserve University. This presentation will focus on several important aspects of personal financial planning, including saving and investing for returement; family issues which impact financial planning; and how to select an investment manager or financial advisor. Before coming to CWRU, Mr. Shelley headed the estate planning practice at international law firm Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P. (no continuing education credit hours).

Cooking Demonstration and Lunch

Join us as the Marriott Chef prepares a three course lunch while you ask questions. Learn some tricks of the trade while getting a behind the scenes look at what goes into running a hotel kitchen. Space is limited. $35 per person.

Dean’s Southern Barbecue Lunch
11:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Join Dean Jerold Goldberg and the Alumni Association for a barbecue lunch in the patient waiting area on the ground floor at the School of Dental Medicine. the menu consists of beef ribs, barbecue chicken, black bean burger, barbecued baked beans, potato salad, vegetable pasta saland and more. $25 per person.

Walking Tour of the Dental School
12:45 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Remember when?

Relive your school days and visit the School for a guided tour. Observe the exciting changes and hear about the new programs underway. Tour groups will meet in the patient waiting area on the ground floor.

Campus Master Plan Tour
1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Ride Lolly the Trolley and learn about the future of the Case Western Reserve University campus featuring the Village at 115 and the Alumni House. Guests will be picked up outside the dental school ground floor lobby entrance.
