School of Dental Medicine: Giving

Community Care And Outreach

Community Care and Outreach at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine

For the surrounding community, the school is a critical access point for a range of health services, bringing dental care — the top unmet healthcare need for children, the elderly, and those living in poverty — to those in Cleveland who need it most. In addition to providing preventative care in every elementary school in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, more than 10,000 patients receive free dental care each year through the school’s work with the Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland and federally qualified health centers. Deemed one of the most successful partnerships that CWRU has established with the community, program support and sponsorships are essential to keeping dental students and faculty out in the field, improving the health of our neighbors.
