School of Dental Medicine: Giving

Research at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine

Increasingly recognized for its discoveries that link oral health and whole body well-being, the school has determinedly grown its research capacity in recent decades — with even greater potential yet to be realized. Its noteworthy research regarding the relationship between oral health and infectious diseases, AIDS, preterm birth, heart disease and stroke, health disparities, and health delivery systems has advanced the knowledge about prevention and treatment that extends beyond the traditional boundaries of dental medicine. Well-equipped laboratories, designed to maximize technology and bring synergy to a diverse team of researchers (including students), are planned for the new facility and require funding. Equally important are research fellowships to support the talent and leadership that make progress possible.
