The Craniofacial Imaging Center (CIC) specializes in three-dimensional imaging of the head and neck using Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) technology and provides support for research, as well as clinical activities, inside and outside Case Western Reserve University. Three-dimensional images provide a more accurate representation of our patients, since patients are three-dimensional entities. A more accurate representation results in a more accurate diagnosis, and potentially a more effective treatment.
One of the purposes on the Craniofacial Imaging Center is to provide access to this technology, offer educational services through CE courses, as well as provide clinical service by imaging patients referred by outside practitioners. A number of different medical and dental specialties have been using the Imaging Center, including anesthesiologists, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) specialists, family dentists, oral surgeons, orthodontists, periodontists, plastic surgeons, and prosthodontists.
How to Send a Patient
Just give us a call at 216.368.2674 to find out about how we can help you with your patient. If you prefer, you can have your patient call us to schedule an appointment. The taking of a Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) image takes less than 10 seconds, so usually your patient is with us for less than 5 minutes. Our images are compatible with all implant placement software and any DICOM reader.
