Description:
The program provides for 12 months of training in clinical and didactic general dentistry. Although conducted in conjunction with the AEGD program, it is a non-accredited fellowship. The program is sponsored by the Department of Comprehensive Care and is directed by the AEGD Program Director.
Objectives:
To provide clinical and didactic training in all phases of general dentistry, beyond the scope of undergraduate dental education. Among the areas of emphasis will be advanced restorative techniques, proper selection of restorative materials, and esthetic dentistry.

Candidates must have a DDS degree or its equivalent. Foreign graduates are eligible to apply. An
application must be received with a $50 non-refund,able application fee no later than December 15th for the program starting the following July 1st. Official transcripts from all colleges, universities and dental schools attended including GPA and class rank, and three letters of recommendation must be submitted.
Applicants selected for the program will register as full time fellows. The program's fee as of
July 2007 is $18,036 per year of registration.
Program Overview:
The candidate selected will participate in all didactic course work assigned to the AEGD residents. The Restorative Fellowship is considered a full time program of study due to the combination of didactic and clinical practical hours. This program is not eligible for financial aid.
The clinical component consists of a laboratory part and patient care part. The patient care part will commence only after the Program Director has determined that the clinical skills performed on the laboratory typodont have been satisfacStorily completed. The patient care part consists of care in all disciplines the Program Director deems appropriate for the fellow in training. This includes but is not limited to restorative dentistry, esthetic dentistry, restoration of implants, fixed and removable prosthodontics, etc.
The fellow's progress will be evaluated quarterly by the Program Director. Upon satisfactory completion of the program, the fellow will receive a certificate of completion of a "Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry."
