Countdown to Homecoming and Reunion Weekend 2017

Homecoming/Reunion: October 5-8, 2017

It's a year of celebration! This Homecoming and Reunion will be extraordinarily special as we are celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the School of Dental Medicine. Special events will occur all year leading up to our celebration weekend in October! This celebration is only about honoring our past history but also preparing to continue our legacy of excellence.

Dental school may seem like ages ago or it may feel like just yesterday that you were walking through the school on your way to class. Regardless of how you, and the world around you, has changed since graduation, your college experience is etched into your memory.

Your Alumni Association invites you to come home to CWRU for Homecoming/Reunion, which pays tribute to the unique CWRU experience. Join dental school alumni, and alumni from the entire university, for a dynamic weekend to see what has changed, what new things the dental school has to offer, and to catch up with classmates and friends you may not have seen since the day you graduated. Homecoming/Reunion isn’t just for reunion classes—all members of our alumni community are welcome to come back to campus. We hope that you will accept our invitation to return, reconnect and reminisce at Homecoming/Reunion, and that you will spread the word to your classmates and friends. We look forward to seeing you there.

In celebration of the 125th anniversary, we are interested in hearing from you about how your lives have been impacted by the school over the years. We are looking for stories, anecdotes, letters, archival photos and artifacts that highlight your personal connection to the school. Also, please let us know about any of your dental inventions and innovations.

Please share your story by emailing us at!

Celebrate your reunion as part of Homecoming. The Office of Development and Alumni Relations is more than happy to assist you in planning your reunion event to be held during the weekend. Here are just some of the things we can do for you:

  • Provide you with class lists including addresses, phone numbers and email
  • Help promote your reunion event by publishing information on our website
  • Coordinate mailings and provide mailing materials
  • Offer ideas for locations (we handle arrangements if held at host hotel)
  • Coordinate having Dean Ken Chance attend your event
  • Assist in planning class gifts for reunion giving

Please contact Ms. Sara Fields at or 216.368.3924 for assistance in planning your reunion.

We're excited to have you back!

The success of Homecoming and Reunion depends in large part on the active participation and commitment of Class Representatives. Reunions are typically promoted by a committee of class volunteers. In the past, classes have found that having large, active committees not only makes reunion promotion run smoothly, but also encourages more involvement in Homecoming.

The staff in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations is available throughout the reunion planning process to assist you. Their goal is to work with Class Representatives to ensure a fun and successful reunion.

To volunteer, contact the Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 216.368.5758 or email

Reunion Giving

Reunion is an exceptionally joyous and festive time to return to campus to celebrate past experiences and memories made while at the School of Dental Medicine. It is a time to reflect on your accomplishments and bonds, and it is also a time to celebrate being a part of the university’s community.

The generosity behind the reunion class gift is a critical piece of the School of Dental Medicine’s Annual Fund.  As much as reuniting is about reminiscing and invigorating old friendships, it is also about looking and working towards the future. Your commitment to give back, at any level or to any designation, ensures that our School’s reputation for excellence in education continues for generations to come. Supporting your class, in any amount, supports the participation goal.

A reunion presents a unique opportunity to come together to make an especially meaningful gift that will significantly impact the School of Dental Medicine’s vital priorities, including:

  • 295 DMD Students and 83 Postgraduate Residents.
  • Student-Aid and Scholarships
  • Cutting-Edge Research
  • Community Outreach and Increased Clinical Care
  • Facility Enhancements

For more information on Reunion Giving or to make a gift, please contact:

Office of Development and Alumni Relations at (216) 368-3480

You may also make your gift online at, by

mailing your gift to: School of Dental Medicine at 10900 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44106-4905 or

via text by following the insturctions in the video below using #dental.

Your gift has the ability to truly make a difference.

Congratulations on your reunion and thank you for your support!

Our 125th Anniversary Celebration received contributions and support from many outstanding organizations. The School of Dental Medicine Alumni Association would like to recognize and extend a sincere thank you to the companies that assisted our next generation of dentists by contributing to our growing funds for student scholarships.
