Dr. Chattopadhyay, BDS, MDS, MPH, CPH, PhD, FFPH (RCP-UK), is board certified by the American National Board of Public Health Examiners and the American Board of Dental Public Health. He holds several academic qualifications in the disciplines of pain control, management, ethics, international development, public health outcomes, and medico legal systems from several countries.
His expertise and research interests related to oral medicine include connective tissue disorders and immunological disorders; pre-cancer-cancer; mucosal pathology & immunology; craniofacial pain; rare diseases; chronic diseases and disease modeling. He also works on several other areas such as oral pathology-medicine, evidence based medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, data analysis, mathematical modeling, graphical modeling, public health, bioethics, systems science, medico-legal systems, program planning-evaluation and hospital & healthcare management.
Widely published, Dr. Chattopadhyay is the author of the book Oral Health Epidemiology: Principles and Practice and is the Editor in Chief of Journal of Theory and Practice of Dental Public Health and the Journal of Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Epidemiology. He has served and currently serves on several national and international scientific expert panels and journal editorial committees/ boards.
