The School of Dental Medicine offers a variety of programs to get students interested and involved in research, from summer programs to dual-degree programs. Reflecting the broad interests of the faculty, research opportunities include basic, clinical, behavioral, epidemiologic, and practice-based topics for both summer research and continued participation throughout student tenure at the school. Students gain in-depth knowledge in a focused area and experience research methodologies first-hand by conducting a study from the first phases of articulating a research question to the synthesis and presentation of study findings.
Are you a student with a great idea for research but don't know where to start? Apply for the Summer Research Program or search Research Projects to find current projects and faculty mentors. Find funding opportunities, design your research project, and submit to the IRB with help from Research Support. Then, learn how to create a Research Poster and present your research at Professionals Day or the CWRU Research ShowCASE.
